A nice place to sit

When the sun comes out, any space that you can park your bottom on in London is immediately put to use. If you don’t get outside quickly enough you won’t find a spare inch to sit on. Lunchtimes can be particularly hazardous in this regard. But in the evenings there’s a little more space – enough space to read a book, while the emptying of the bins carries on behind you.

But if you can find a nice quiet patch of grass to sit on while you read, that’s even better.

If you don’t have a book, just sit anyway and enjoy the evening sun (though this woman does look a bit bored – I think she may have been waiting too long!).
